About ACTWTF

ACTWTF (ACT Winning Tactics and Formulas) started as a side project. In graduate school at MIT, I studied education and learning methods at the Teaching and Learning Lab (TLL), then spent years tutoring my own kids for the ACT. Somewhere in there I started writing my own materials and documenting the strategy we were using. Not just practice problems, but the specific mix of Skills, Speed, and Stamina.

I started posting the materials I'd built for my own kids, mostly to save myself from re-explaining the same thing twice. I didn't expect anyone outside my family to use them. They did. That's the only reason this exists in a form bigger than a stack of PDFs on my hard drive.

ACTWTF is that same tutoring approach built into an actual site instead of a folder of worksheets. It's not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ACT, Inc. It's free, built and run by one person, and it stays free because people who found it useful chip in to keep it running.
